Clinical governance

How clinical decisions are made on JhiOn.

A registered medical practitioner leads clinical governance. AI prepares; your doctor decides, signs and speaks to you. Everything is traceable.

The clinical lead

The clinical lead owns eligibility, protocol versions, escalation rules, clinical audit and incident review. A business lead cannot override a clinical decision.

The AI boundary

What AI does

  • Classifies your reports
  • Links every value to its page
  • Drafts material for your doctor

Software never issues

  • A diagnosis
  • A prescription
  • A dose change
  • A test order

AI classifies your reports, links every value to its page, and drafts material for your doctor. Your doctor reviews it, decides and signs. Software never issues a diagnosis, prescription, dose change or test order.

Safeguards against rubber-stamping

A doctor who signs whatever the AI drafts is not reviewing it. These rules keep the review real.

  • Review-rate limits: no doctor reviews more cases in a session than the Lead Doctor sets as safe.
  • Sampled audits: a share of every doctor's signed decisions is re-read by the Lead Doctor.
  • A second read on high-risk cases before anything is signed.
  • Every edit a doctor makes to a draft is recorded with their name, the time and the reason.

Uploaded documents are treated as data, never as instructions.

Escalation paths

SituationWhat happens
Routine information Your coordinator answers, with doctor-approved education.
New or worsening non-urgent finding Doctor review within one working day during service hours. This is a service target, not a guarantee.
Urgent concern Immediate on-screen direction to in-person urgent care, and the clinical escalation contact is notified.
Incomplete or conflicting record Interpretation is blocked until the record is clarified.
Need for specialist care A documented referral, with consent and a handover that is tracked.

Every case has a named owner and a defined response. Urgent concerns are directed to in-person care, not managed by this service.

Quality review

  • Every pilot baseline and plan change is reviewed.
  • Sampled cases are audited weekly.
  • Every serious incident is reviewed.
  • Affected workflows are paused when a defect could cause harm.

For partner doctors and labs

  • Prepared, source-linked summaries, so your consult starts at the decision.
  • Documented consent for everything we share.
  • No per-referral incentives.
  • Verified credentials and signed service terms before any provider is listed.
